About Us
Chef Lira DeShazo grew up in Cartagena, Colombia, and has been an animal lover all her life! She attended culinary school and worked in hotels in Cartagena during the early and mid-1990s. Since then she has raised a family, moving around the world from Germany to Guatemala, and in Bogotá and Cartagena.
Lira moved to Dallas in 2019 and married the love of her life Steve DeShazo. Lucy is Lira and Steve’s four-legged baby since February 2020 and is the inspiration for Lucy’s Choice. Lira wanted to serve Lucy the same types of high-quality meals that she has always prepared for her human family. Lira has developed the Lucy’s Choice line of products so that many other furry babies can enjoy her delicious cooking…which is always made with love!
